Well we learned on Wednesday that not all Gallery software is treated equal. I have been involved in software design long enough I know hype when hear it. But I guess I was a sleep in my deprivation to find an alternative to the current software Xanluna! is currently using to manage the Galleries section.
After 6 long hours of frustration I finally gave in and went to bed. Early in the morning the remainder of the failed attempts to correct the problem were eradicated from the system and a fresh and clean install was finally accomplished. My mistakes cost me $150 in wasted money on products where I should have read clearly the fine print!
So take my beliquored advice. When you find a product that you think is better than sliced bread it surely is! Make sure you understand all the prerequisites and if you have to install yet another 3rd party software first and if that third party software cost you more money then you realized.
Well I relearned my lesson and now going to take a different approach. One that I started when Xanluna! was stood up. Due to the complexities of Joomla! I made an early decision to create 3 distinct sites. The primary and 1 each for the Online Store and the other for Documentum 4 Dummies. Of course I have not been able to concentrate on the Dummies site as it is going to be a whole lot more complicated then just a software install.
10 years ago I took over the management of my own web sites because everyone whom thought they knew what they were doing could not do it better than me. Not that I am an expert but I have stood up 50+ sites to date so I think I know a little about the subject. So the plan is to build a new Gallery site from the ground up that will link to Xanluna! just like the Online Store. It will not be Joomla! unless I find a magic bullet. Hopefully this will elevate all the issues and we will be able to offer a complete photo sharing site similar to Flicker. That is the plan anyway. So for now we will limp along with the current software and endure the limitations until adequate time can be put into this new wrinkle.

When ever possible we try to scour up tips-n-tricks to help you get more done for less. With so so many small companies trying to take on Microsoft it is hard to know what product is good or not.
